The pop star has shared her reflections on a transformative year, celebrating both professional milestones and personal achievements.
If you’ve been curious about what Billie Eilish considers the standout moments of her 2024, wonder no more.
The Grammy-winning artist has opened up about the highs of the past 12 months, offering fans a glimpse into her evolving life and career.
At just 23 years old, Billie Eilish’s journey continues to amaze.
This year saw the release of her third studio album, followed by an impressive global tour that left fans in awe. Her career has truly soared to new heights.
In May, she released Hit Me Hard and Soft, which quickly became a sensation.
The album earned the title of the second most-streamed record on Spotify for 2024, only trailing behind Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poet’s Department.
Eilish’s track ‘Birds of a Feather’ was also a massive hit, ranking as the third most-streamed song on Spotify this year. All things considered, 2024 has been nothing short of remarkable for her music career.
Continuing her annual tradition, Billie sat down with Vanity Fair for the eighth time to reflect on her ongoing success and share how her personal life has flourished alongside her career. She revealed that this year has been fulfilling in many unexpected ways.
The evolution in Eilish’s hair color and style is not the only change since her first Vanity Fair interview in 2017. She’s grown immensely, both personally and professionally, over the years.
“This is the first year in my life that I keep forgetting how old I am,” she admitted with a laugh. “I can’t believe where my life has gone, and where it is now.”
Billie expressed immense pride in her accomplishments this year, especially those she shared with her brother and collaborator, Finneas. Together, they have achieved incredible milestones.
“I have the most monthly listeners on Spotify in the entire world,” she said excitedly. “I released my album, went on tour again, I made so many new friends, adopted another dog – it’s been a friendship-filled year.”
“I and Finneas won an Oscar for ‘What Was I Made For?’ I can’t even really describe how amazing that was, and then it was like we were the youngest people in history to win two, or something crazy.”
Looking back at footage from last year, Billie reflected on her aspirations for the future. Many of her goals centered around adventurous activities that carry a hint of danger.

Among her daring dreams are skydiving, bungee jumping, and stunt driving. She added enthusiastically: “I really want to do stuff like that, things that I could die because of.”
“I want to adventure so bad,” she added, before sharing: “I definitely want some more piercings, I want some more tattoos, another dog, be hanging out with your family, be making new friends, be having new friends, be having good sex.”
The ‘Ocean Eyes’ singer then revealed that she had succeeded in fulfilling many of her personal pledges for 2023. She joked that the “good sex” goal was already ticked off her list.
Another highlight for Billie this year was reconnecting with old friends. In the past, she had opened up about losing close friendships after rising to fame. But in 2024, she made it a priority to strengthen those bonds again.
She shared her thoughts on this: “I’ve done nothing but make friends all year and gotten so close with people that I wasn’t with before, became friends with people I used to be friends with again, and just like…it’s just been a year filled with friendship. Which honestly, even though I was saying a lot of things that I want to do, that was the thing that I wanted to do, and I really did it, and it was awesome.”
“And yes, I’ve had a lot of good sex. So, you’re welcome, Billie!”

While fans are eager to know who might be keeping Billie smiling these days, she’s managed to keep those details under wraps. Nonetheless, the curiosity surrounding her love life remains a frequent topic of speculation.
Her sexuality has also been a popular subject of discussion. Songs like ‘Lunch’ and her appearance on Charli XCX’s remix of ‘Guess’ sparked plenty of debates online, much to Billie’s frustration.
At the time, she addressed the speculation directly, stating: “That song [Lunch] was actually part of what helped me become who I am, to be real. I wrote some of it before even doing anything with a girl, and then wrote the rest after.”
“I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years. It’s really frustrating to me that it came up.”
Billie has spoken out about how frustrating it is when the media fixates on her personal preferences. She also shared the moment she realized she was attracted to girls, adding: “I’ve been in love with girls for my whole life, but I just didn’t understand until, last year, I realised I wanted my face in a vagina.”
“I was never planning on talking about my sexuality ever, in a million years. It’s really frustrating to me that it came up.”
In 2023, Billie took to Instagram to clarify that she is attracted to both boys and girls. She wrapped up the post with a message to her followers: “Leave me alone about it please, literally who cares.”
Looking back on the situation, she later told Rolling Stone that she may have reacted emotionally but felt it was necessary to reclaim control of her narrative.
“The whole world suddenly decided who I was, and I didn’t get to say anything or control any of it,” she explained. “Nobody should be pressured into being one thing or the other.”
“It takes a while to find yourself, and I think it’s really unfair, the way that the internet bullies you into talking about who you are and what you are.”
