Social media users are celebrating ‘real horror’ being ‘back’ after someone ‘threw up’ at a screening of a film shot from the killer’s view.
Believe it or not, a slasher film was so frightening that someone in the movie theater actually vomited because of the intensity.
I personally find it hard to understand why anyone would choose to watch a horror film in the first place, especially if it means paying to sit in a cinema where you can’t even comfortably lean back or have a remote in hand to mute the sound during particularly scary scenes.
Given this, I must admit my sympathy for the person who ended up getting sick is somewhat limited.
Recently, a Twitter profile by the name of Film Updates shared a rather interesting audio clip from a screening.
Be careful what you eat before going to view this upcoming slasherIFC Films
This event took place at the Chicago Critics Film Festival, featuring an unreleased slasher film directed by Chris Nash titled “In a Violent Nature.”
In this audio clip, you can hear the audience’s reactions to the movie.
While it’s not explicitly clear whether the sounds include someone vomiting, there is definitely a mix of shocked ‘Ooing,’ some awkward chuckling, and a burst of cheers and applause which likely followed the scene that triggered the nausea.
And it’s not taken long for people to flood to the audio recording to weigh in.
One user commented simply: “A lot of action.”
“Omg. I can’t wait,” exclaimed another, clearly thrilled.
A third chimed in with a bit of humor, “Well, guess it’s not a movie for a weak stomach, huh?”

Another attendee of the screening shared their perspective: “I was at this screening. If this is the kill I’m thinking of, people with a weak stomach might lose their lunch watching it.
“Probably with all the laughter I didn’t hear anyone throwing up.”
And another enthusiast declared confidently: “Omg real horror is back!”
If the enthusiasm and the Rotten Tomatoes rating are anything to go by, then it seems ‘real horror’ may indeed be back in vogue.
As of the latest updates, the slasher film “In a Violent Nature” has achieved a remarkably high Tomatometer score of 95 percent.
Much of the film is shot from over the killer’s shoulderIFC Films
For those who occasionally enjoy a good scare but don’t consider themselves hardcore horror fans, the upcoming slasher movie features a mysterious murderer wearing a mask who terrorizes a group of unsuspecting campers.
Adding a unique twist to the narrative, the entire film is shot from the perspective of the murderer.
Given its high score on Rotten Tomatoes and the fact that it contains a scene intense enough to make someone physically ill, I’m still quite amazed by its appeal.
Despite my personal bafflement, I’m fairly certain that horror movie fans will be eager to snag tickets as soon as they’re available.
They’ll likely be rushing to cinemas on its release date, May 31.
