Meghan Markle has come under fire for her latest post on As Ever, where she’s seen flaunting what some believe to be “store bought spring onions.”
The image in question captures the Duchess of Sussex sporting a chic wide-brim hat and walking through a garden with a watering can and several spring onions in tow. She captioned the post, “Daily rituals.”
While many fans liked Meghan’s Instagram post, people on X called out the former royal and accused her of deceiving them. Skeptics argue that the onions were not picked from her garden as suggested, citing the conspicuous absence of dirt on her hands, feet, or the vegetables themselves.
One user on X blasted, “Meghan Markle is a fraud. Here is the delusional duchess walking around her garden with store bought onions pretending to have grown them. Not a speck of dirt on them.”
Another critic added, “The daily dose of fakeness from Meghan Markle is too much! Fake cooking, bought waffles, now clean ‘freshly picked’ spring onions from ‘her garden’ whilst keeping her hands and barefeet clean.”
A further comment read, “Meghan continues to bombard fans with new pictures in bizarre bare-foot snap – the spring onions are shop clean, have no roots, she has no tools and an indoor watering can; if she was watering her garden it would take a long time with that.”
One commenter jokingly observed, “Daily rituals by Meghan. Gets staff to drive to shop and pick up some fresh veggies. Then gets staff to take photos of Meghan walking round the garden with said veggies. Having grown spring onions myself, hers are awfully clean and neat considering she’s just picked them.”
However, some of Meghan’s supporters came to her defense. One fan pointed out that she likely has access to an outdoor water faucet near her garden, referencing a previous Instagram post where Meghan was seen rinsing flowers, suggesting she may have rinsed the onions before taking the photo.

Another fan pushed back against the criticism, “I just read someone say that the spring onions Meghan Sussex is holding in her newest #AsEver post are ‘too clean to have just been picked’.. 1. Do yall not know how branding and marketing works? Why would she post dirty spring onions on her BRAND
Since starting her As Ever account, Meghan has been hit with a wave of criticism, with some labeling her as “fake.” Recently, she was accused of “lying” about making waffles at home with her children on St. Patrick’s Day.
The Duchess of Sussex had given a glimpse into her family life on Instagram, posting pictures of herself making green treats and drinks for her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to celebrate the Irish holiday. “About this morning,” the former Suits star captioned a video of her stirring bright green batter in a bowl.
Meghan then showed off her refreshing green drink on ice and two types of waffles – one image showed a duo of neatly cut waffles adorned with strawberries and cream, while another presented an untouched waffle topped with whipped cream, kiwi, and blueberries arranged into a smiley face.
While many found Meghan’s post to be a bit of fun, she soon faced backlash. Critics claimed she was being unfair to her children with her choice of waffles.
“Every single day Meghan Markle proves herself to be a terrible MOTHER,” blasted a critic on X. They scornfully commented, “Meghan will plate gourmet homemade waffles for herself while her paycheck gets some chemical-filled crap waffle.”
“I guess the kid’s aren’t good enough,” they concluded bitterly. A surge of similar sentiments flowed from others on X, where it was even suggested Meghan lied about making the waffles herself.
One person voiced doubts on X, “I immediately saw the difference when I saw the video. I couldn’t grasp the reason to lie about waffles. What kind of person needs to do that? Meghan Markle is a walking scam.”
