But now, a bizarre background detail has stolen the spotlight — and it’s got viewers absolutely gagging. But all is not as it seems.
‘Raw’ Chicken Legs… Just Sitting There?
Eagle-eyed viewers watching With Love, Meghan noticed something unusual in a scene where Meghan reaches into a fridge to grab some lettuce. What’s just above the veggie drawer?
Two rows of neatly lined-up, raw chicken drumsticks.
Yes, you read that correctly. Just sitting there on a fridge shelf — seemingly not on a plate and without a cover.
One X (formerly Twitter) user, @Lillyin_London, called out the unsanitary setup, posting: “Why has Meghan Markle [got] raw chicken legs in the fridge next to the salad???”
Cue the internet losing its collective mind.
“Hello, Salmonella, My Old Friend”
While some people shrugged off the fridge fiasco, others had a field day with the questionable food storage choices.
One person joked: “Hello salmonella, my old friend.”
A third added: “I believe Chef Gordon Ramsay would call that cross-contamination.”
“Dear sweet Lord that is DISGUSTING! No one does this,” replied another X user, with another typing: “Not even on a plate, well it’s not her kitchen just a rental for the show…but really bad, unhygienic move for TV.”

Fans Furious Over Food Safety Fail
Not everyone found it funny. Many were genuinely horrified at what they perceived as a major food safety violation.
“Why are they not in a tray? Yuk, all the chicken juices would be running all over that fridge shelf & down the back onto products below. Not great hygiene practices,” one person wrote.
Another slammed the production team: “Who is on her production team? There are people paid to pay attention to details like this. What a faux pas. I’ve been watching cooking shows for decades and the only time I see raw chicken in the fridge is still in the package, marinating, covered in a bowl.”
However, viewers had jumped to conclusions. Credit: Netflix
Someone else was even more blunt: “Are those raw chicken legs just placed on the glass shelving of the fridge? No plate? No cover? And raw meat should never be placed above vegetables! What a literal shtshow.”*
Viewers Are Mistaken – Truth Revealed
Some were quick to defend Meghan. While some claimed any error is the fault of the production team, others speculated that the chicken isn’t actually raw at all.
“Everyone’s salad compartment is at the bottom of the fridge. And they are pre-cooked chicken legs,” one person insisted.
And this has been confirmed by the Daily Mail, who reported: “It was revealed the chicken legs had been parboiled or partially cooked in water and were placed on a tray”.
